Inkjet Compatibility

It doesn't matter what operating system you are running, or what platform you are on, we all share the same problems with printers. No matter what we are printing, we always seem to run out of paper or printer ink before the job is finished.

Now I'm not one to always keep myself stocked up on ink cartridges, as I'm more paranoid that when I open up the new ink cartridge from its package the ink will have already dried up. And when I do decide to store an extra ink cartridge or two, I find that I've already upgraded to the next latest inkjet printer, and of course the old cartridge isn't compatible. I probably have a drawer or two stuffed with ink cartridges, ribbons, and print heads from old printing devices. It's enough to rival my collection of old ram chips. At least the chips can be made into keychains.

Now someone could make a lot of money, or maybe just a little, by inventing some sort of universal backwards-compatible inkjet cartridge coupler, a device that you could plug into your existing inkjet, laserjet, or bubblejet printer at one end, and into your crazy one-of-a-kind ink cartridge on the other. This way, you'd be assured that you'd always have replacement ink when needed, and it wouldn't matter if your devices were incompatible or even obsolete.
